Learning trunk launched in memory of Holocaust survivors at a Cobb county middle school
A new trunk has been launched at Cobb County’s Smitha Middle School. The trunk was sponsored by Freda Goodman, in memory of her parents Israel and Gisela Silberminz who both survived the Holocaust.
Students and educators at the school participated in an activity that utilized a set of ID cards from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. They read true stories of teenagers targeted during the Holocaust.
This trunk is part of the statewide Holocaust Learning Trunk Project which provides middle school educators access to trunks full of educational materials about the Holocaust. The contents are meant to supplement to curriculum already in place. There is no cost to use a trunk. To learn more about this project, please visit the project page.
