  In November 1940\, Hungary joined Nazi Germany in the Axis alliance. In M
 arch 1944\, German forces occupied Hungary. Life for Robert and his family
  changed dramatically in October 1944 when the fascist Arrow Cross party o
 rchestrated a coup and took control of the Hungarian government. Robert wa
 s just 6 years-old when his parents were taken in a round-up of Jews.Conne
