e.\n\nAmbassador Norman Eisen served the U.S. as ambassador to the Czech R
epublic from 2011 to 2014. Upon appointment\, he returned to the land his
mother had fled after the Holocaust. He moved into the ambassador’s resi
dence in Prague. He was startled to discover swastikas hidden beneath the
furniture in his new home. These Nazi symbols were remnants of a forgotten
history and evidence that we do not live far from the past. A captivating
tale of four remarkable people who called this \"palace\" home unraveled.
Eisen tells their stories woven with his mother's\, demonstrating how tho
se without power and privilege moved through history.\n\nNorman L. Eisen
is a CNN political commentator\, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institut
ion\, and board chair of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washing
ton (CREW). He writes regularly for the New York Times\, USA Today\, and
Politico. He is an attorney who previously served as White House special
counsel for ethics and government reform and later as U.S. ambassador to
the Czech Republic.\n\nCommunity Partners: Congregation B’nai Torah and
the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust
