Student Community Service Award

This award is given to honor students in middle and high school who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication. Students applying for these awards will have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion and service in their volunteer activities. Students may not receive any monetary or personal benefits from their involvement in these activities.

Judging Criteria

 50%     Has the student’s efforts made a lasting or meaningful contribution or impact on the community?

15%     Does this student stand out, serving as a strong role model for others, and engaging others in service?

25%     How much time has this student spent in service?

10%     Is the student’s volunteer work recognized and valued by their peers and community leaders?

Presentation

 The Student Award Winners will be honored at the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust Days of Remembrance Ceremony, on May 3, 2019, in the House Chamber in the Georgia Capitol.

2nd place middle school         $100 gift certificate
3rd place middle school          $50 gift certificate
Honorable mention                books/$10 gift cards

High School

1st place high school              $200 gift certificate

Application 

All applications must be received by March 15, 2019 and must include a letter of recommendation.
