Witnesses to Liberation: Frank L. Benson

Frank L. Benson was in the 17th Signal Battalion, responsible for establishing communication lines for the 1st Army as it advanced through all five campaigns across Europe. He visited the Buchenwald concentration camps after it had been liberated by soldiers from the 6th Armored Division, part of the Third Army. These photos are from a personal photo album his wife, Edith, created with photos given to him during the war.
