Holocaust Learning Trunk Project on 11 Alive

On Monday, January 16, 2012, 11 Alive's Donna Lowry covered the Holocaust Learning Trunk Project. Filming and interviews took place at Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy (CSKYWLA) in Atlanta.

Middle school students of CSKYWLA are decorating three trunks. One trunk commemorates the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Pictures of students decorating the trunks are available on Facebook.

Commission staff brought a completed trunk ("Butterflies are Free," decorated by students at GIVE Center East) to show some of the books found inside each trunk.

Trunks are available throughout the state. They can be checked out by middle school educators from their local Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) office. The materials can be used to support current curriculum.
