Childhood friend of Anne Frank visits exhibit in Sandy Springs

On June 12, 1939, nine girls lined up with their arms around each other and posed for a photo in front of the apartments at Merwedeplein in Amsterdam. It was their friend's 10th birthday.

2014 Days of Remembrance

On May 2, 2014, the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust, on behalf of the State of Georgia, hosted the annual State Official Observance “Holocaust Days of Remembrance” of the victims of the Holocaust. The observance began at 11am in the North Wing of the State Capitol.

New exhibition series "Georgia's Response to the Holocaust" launches

“Parallel Journeys: World War II and the Holocaust Through the Eyes of Teens” exhibit comes to Sandy Springs

The Commission is bringing the exhibit “Parallel Journeys: World War II and the Holocaust Through the Eyes of Teens” to Sandy Springs. It will be on display at Anne Frank in the World from September 25, 2013, until October 30, 2013. Admission is free. 

Holocaust survivor brings story to Lakeland, Georgia

On April 30, 2013, Dr. Eugen Schoenfeld, scholar and Holocaust survivor, shared his story to the community of Lakeland, Georgia. He spoke to a full auditorium at Lanier County High School and through live feed in the cafeteria where additional audience members were seated.

Mayor Reed launches Holocaust learning trunk in Atlanta

Starting this fall, 20 new trunks will launch as part of the statewide Holocaust Learning Trunk Project. The first trunk was launched by Mayor Kasim Reed at Jean Child Young Middle School in Atlanta on November 29, 2012.
